I met you yesterday
Yet I have known
You all my life
My best friend

We share our loves
Our tears
Even though you lost
Your front teeth without me
Learned your ABC’s alon

We have held
That someday
A friend would come
To share our teen hopes and fears
For the rest of our life
A true friend
