Worshipping Only You

I have made you my gilded calf
At the foot of Mount Sinai
And in the late of evening
I bring you the alms of my devotion
Offering them up to you
As though you are a God

Could you find a love so pure twice
Though I see you have tried
Your marriage vows are proof of that
Or is that just age creeping up your back
The need for prodigy pushing at your sides

With earnest fervent prayers
I come to your reverberation

This desert sand
Licking at my heals
You are so absent
You are no longer in my possession
